Evening
opening hours to be cut at Burnham-On-Sea library
Evening
opening hours at Burnham-On-Sea Library are to be cut back from
March when a new opening schedule is introduced.
Somerset
County Council has decided to reduce opening of Friday hours,
but at the same time start Wednesday opening.
From
March 31st, the library in Princess Street (pictured) will no
longer open on Fridays after 6pm, however it will be open on Wednesdays
between 9.30am and 1pm for the first time.
The
library will also open for half an hour less every day on Mondays,
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays - although overall the library
will open one extra hour per week.
A
county council spokesperson told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The
Friday evening opening hours have not been particularly well supported,
while Wednesday daytime opening has been requested for some time.
This change is a logical step forward."
