Burnham
Lions Club receives wishing pool donation from garden centre
Generous
visitors to a garden centre near Burnham-On-Sea have helped raise
£1,500 for the town's Lions Club by dropping their loose
change into a 'wishing pool'.
Peter
Burks, the General Manager of Sanders Garden World this week presented
a bumper cheque to the club as a result of the donations.
Peter
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We would like to thank the general
public for their donations and helping us raise a significant
amount for Burnham-On-Sea Lions Club. The club does a great job
raising money for the community and we wanted to support them
with their work."
Burnham
Lions Club has combined the money donated by Sanders Garden World
with other donations given to the club and has divided the cash
equally between the British Institute for Brain Injured Children
(BIBIC) and the Highbridge-based National Blind Childrens
Society (NBCS) with each charity receiving £1,000 each.
Andrew
Bryant, President of Burnham-On-Sea Lions Club, said: "We
are very grateful to Sanders GardenWorld® for helping us collect
funds for these local charities."
