Juggernaut
causes damage in squeeze through Burnham town centre
Town
centre residents in Burnham-On-Sea looked on in disbelief when
a huge articulated lorry was driven through narrow streets in
the town, leaving a parked vehicle dented in the process.
A
car parked at the junction of Victoria Street and College Street
was left with a huge dent above its wheel arch soon after the
huge lorry was taken through the centre of town earlier this week.
"The
driver had presumably got lost or was new to this area or he would
not have tried taking a huge juggernaut like this through tight
street corners in the centre of town," one eyewitness, who
asked not to be named, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
"He
managed to leave a significant dent in one car, which was parked
at the junction of Victoria Street and College Street, and narrowly
missed other vehicles too."
"It
was ridiculous to even attempt to drive such a huge lorry through
these streets."
"Since
Abingdon Street now has restrictions on lorries using it, maybe
similar limitations should be extended to other parts of the town
centre too."
