Five people were arrested and then bailed following an assault near this Burnham-On-Sea car park – and police have now appealed for the public’s help in solving the crime.

The incident occurred on Saturday October 25th, at approximately 11.15pm, when three men were walking along Marine Drive towards the town centre.

When they were alongside Lynton Road car park (pictured), a group of men and a female approached them and pulled one of the men into the road, and onto the tarmac, where they began punching and kicking him.

The victim, aged 21, suffered some minor injuries, including a bloody nose.

“It is believed that a Vauxhall Astra motor car and a pedal cyclist were in the vicinity at the time and may have seen the incident,” said police spokesman PC Pete Wills.

“If anyone has witnessed the incident or has any other information which may assist the investigation they should contact the police at Burnham-On-Sea on 0845 456 7000.”
