Traffic ground to a halt on the M5 motorway at Burnham-On-Sea on Wednesday morning (December 3rd) after a vehicle ploughed into the central reservation.

The southbound carriageway between junction 21 at Weston-Super-Mare and Burnham at junction 22 was briefly closed at 7.55am to allow the emergency services to recover a vehicle.

“An ambulance and the fire brigade were called to the scene, but it is not thought anyone was seriously injured,” police spokesman Steve Game told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

All lanes re-opened and traffic returned to normal by 8.15am.
