A woman motorist was rushed to hospital following an accident near junction 23 of the M5 motorway for Highbridge on Wednesday morning (March 26th).

Traffic was brought to a standstill around the Dunball roundabout after the rush-hour collision involving two cars at 8.35am, pictured here.

One woman was left trapped in the wreckage and fire crews were sent to the scene to help.

They worked with paramedics to remove a female casualty who was trapped in her vehicle.

“She was safely removed and left in the hands of paramedics, who took her to hospital,” said a fire spokesman.
