New
signs explain renovation plans for Burnham's Marine Cove

Huge
signs explaining the plans to restore Burnham-On-Sea's Marine
Cove gardens have been introduced on the boarded-up seafront shelters
this week.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
exclusively reported last
week how an online petition had been launched to gather support
for the £670,000 scheme to renovate the gardens.
In
March, Sedgemoor District
Council made a submission to the Heritage Lottery Fund's 'Parks
For People' programme. The bid covers bringing back lost features
- such as a sundial, water fountain and several benches - plus
restoring the shelters and more.
In
very recent times the shelters have fallen into such a state of
disrepair that they were boarded up to prevent further deterioration
whilst funding is sought to restore them. Town councillors had
suggested they could be smartened up with the new signs.
