'Mystery
owner' of new Highbridge phone mast is unveiled
A
phone mast which appeared in Highbridge over the last few days
is run by Network Rail, Sedgemoor's planning team has confirmed
this week.
The huge mast, which is pictured here, bemused residents living
near the town's Asda supermarket when it was constructed on land
at the back of the store without prior notice.
But Colin Arnold, Sedgemoor District Council's planning enforcement
officer, told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: "The mast has
been built on Network Rail land."
He added: "No planning application was required in this case
because the company already has an agreement in place allowing
it to install such a mast for its own safety communications."
