Burnham and Highbridge’s Mayor married his fiancé in a colourful, medieval-themed wedding on Saturday (August 23rd).
Cllr Peter Clayton and Jo Burridge tied the knot in a ceremony at Bridgwater Registry Office on Saturday morning before a reception at Axbridge and a blessing ceremony at St John Church in Highbridge, pictured here.
The Mayor’s Chaplain, Christine Judson, is Curate of St John’s Church and led Saturday’s ceremony in front of around 100 invited guests which included past mayors and local councillors.
Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported the couple’s announcement of their engagement in May when Peter was chosen to become Mayor of the two towns.
