Berrow community volunteer awarded MBE in New Year's Honours

A Berrow resident has been awarded an MBE in the Queen's New Year Honours.

Andrea Johnstone has been recognised for her voluntary service to the community in Berrow, near Burnham-on-Sea.

She was instrumental in raising thousands of pounds towards the rebuild of Berrow Football Club's changing rooms after a huge fire in 2005.

Andrea is pictured here during the opening ceremony of the changing rooms in 2007.

She is a former Chairman of Berrow Parish Council and has been a parish councillor for many years. Her husband, James, runs Berrow Brewery.

Honours are awarded at New Year and in mid-June on the Queen's official birthday. For more details visit www.honours.gov.uk.
