McDonald's says there are no plans to open in Highbridge

Speculation that burger giant McDonald's is planning to open a new restuarant in Highbridge has been rejected by the company.

Rumours in the town during recent days - including on Burnham's discussion forums - claimed that McDonald's was considering building a store on vacant land near to Asda next to the busy A38.

However, a press spokeswoman for the company told Burnham-On-Sea.com there are no plans for a site in our area.

"We are continuously expanding across the UK at various locations, but Highbridge and the Burnham area are not currently one of them," she said.
