Highbridge auction night raises cash for tennis academy

Nathan Edwards Over 200 tickets have already been sold for a charity auction being held in Highbridge this Friday (February 1st) to raise funds for a tennis academy in memory of a young tennis player who died last year.

The Nathan Edwards Tennis Academy has been set up following the tragic death of 17-year-old Nathan in a road accident last November.

He was a talented member of Burnham's Avenue Tennis Club and a former King Alfred School pupil.

Organisers of the Tennis Academy are holding a skittles night and auction of promises at Highbridge's Oaktree Arena this Friday at 7.30pm.

A few last tickets are available at £7.50 with a buffet and £3.50 excluding buffet, and further details are available from the Avenue Tennis Club in Burnham or by calling Peter Alexander on 782116.
