Outgoing Burnham Mayor misses election of her successor

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s outgoing Mayor, Pauline Pollard, was unable to wish the town’s new Mayor Peter Clayton well on Monday (May 12th) after injuring herself in a garden accident.

Pauline, pictured here, broke a bone in her shoulder during a garden accident and therefore missed Monday’s annual council meeting.

Incoming Mayor Peter Clayton explained her absence to the audience in the Town Council Chambers and added: “We all wish her a very speedy recovery.”

It meant that the customary presentation of the Past Mayor’s Badge and the outgoing Mayor’s speech were postponed until the next full council meeting on Monday June 2nd.
