Burnham-On-Sea’s pavements should be looking a lot cleaner this week as the town’s bi-annual street wash gets underway.

Contractors working for Sedgemoor District Council are completing the first cleaning session of the year along the High Street, pictured here.

A district council spokesperson said: “Street washing contractors are employed to steam clean pavements and footways to remove chewing gum and built-up grime.”

“Street washing is used to supplement the day to day cleaning carried out by the council’s Clean Surroundings Team and forms part of the council’s drive to make the district even cleaner.”
