Bike
marking and crime tips on offer from Highbridge police
Cyclists
can have their bikes security marked and discuss crime advice
and concerns when Highbridge police hold one of their weekly surgeries
in the town's Asda supermarket next weekend.
The
surgery will be held on Sunday February 3rd from 10.30am - 12.30pm,
when PCSOs Claire Chambers and Gill Udall will be handing out
crime reduction advice, marking property and discussing crime
concerns.
Due
to bike thefts still being an issue in the Highbridge area, police
are inviting cyclists to bring along their bikes to be security
marked (as pictured).
PCSOs
Claire Chambers said: "There are two ways we can mark them.
The first being a free UV marking which adds the owners
postcode in a number of locations using an invisible marker; the
second is using the BikeRegister.com permanent marking system
and ownership database. Police are offering the service at a discounted
rate of £4 per pedal cycle (normally retailed at £10.95)."
