Man arrested after armed
police swoop on flat in Highbridge
Police
confirmed on Monday morning (January 21st) that a 49-year-old
man had been arrested in connection with an incident that brought
the centre of Highbridge to a halt on Saturday.

reported
on Saturday how six teams of officers had rushed to Market Street
amid reports that a white male armed with a crow bar had entered
a flat near to Smarts Newsagents.
Police
spokesman Dan Mountain said on Monday: "Police were called
to deal with a tenancy dispute at 2.55pm in Market Street. A 49-year-old
man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and assault and
taken to Bridgwater Police Station."
"He
was given a formal caution for two counts of criminal damage and
the assault counts were dropped."
Police officers from an armed response unit were seen entering
the building equipped with riot shields - as pictured above.
