Residents air their concerns at Highbridge police street briefing

-

Police in Highbridge held a ‘street briefing’ in the town to let local residents air their views about policing and tackling drugs misuse.

The event, pictured here, was held at Highbridge Quay last Friday and a steady stream of residents came by to meet local officers and discuss their concerns.

Burnham-On-Sea Police Sergeant Ian Kennett said: “Community intelligence is key to our work and we hope that these results reassure local residents that we will act on the information they provide.”

“Our Safer Stronger Neighbourhood teams will continue to spend time building strong links with the local community and held a street briefing at Highbridge Quay on Friday to give those living in the area the chance to raise any issues they feel are affecting their neighbourhood.”

“We will not tolerate this type of crime in Burnham and Highbridge and are determined to help improve the quality of life for those living in the area.”

It came after a a series of Misuse of Drugs Act warrants have been executed over the summer resulting in numerous arrests and the seizure of thousands of pounds worth of controlled drugs. Two Misuse of Drugs Act warrants were carried out in Highbridge Quay last Tuesday, as first reported here.
