Four Brean holiday chalets ‘severely damaged’ in blaze at Pontins

-

Two fire engines from Burnham and a water carrier from Bridgwater were sent to the scene at 12.10am amid reports of a building on fire.

“On arrival the responding crew confirmed chalets were well alight and a third fire appliance was mobilised from Weston-super-Mare with a Command support unit from Street,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-sea.com.

The fire was confined to a single storey building measuring approximately 10m X 6m, belonging to the staff quarters.

The fire was extinguished using three hose reel jets, one main jet and fire fighters using two breathing aparatus.

“Four chalets were severely damaged by fire and the cause is still under investigation,” added the spokesman.
