Burnham-On-Sea MP praises
new swimming pool bosses

Burnham-On-Sea's
MP met the new bosses of the town's swimming pool on Friday afternoon
(April 11th) and said he was "totally delighted" they
are taking it over.
We
reported on Tuesday how
triathlon champion Sara-Jane Cox and her husband Mark Conklin
had been named the new lease holders of the pool following six
months of uncertainty about the pool's future. The couple plan
to transform the pool into a new swimming and sports academy.
On
Friday afternoon Mr Heathcoat-Amory visited the pool, as pictured
here, to meet the couple and hear more about their plans.
He
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I'm totally delighted about this
news. It's a great day for Burnham and a new era for swimming
and sports in the town. I want to see a champion being formed
from here in the years to come."
He
added: "A private sector owner with local knowledge is ideal
- they are both committed to bringing swimming lessons and sports
to the town and I will do all I can to support them."
