In
photos: £58,000 Porsche Cayenne plunges into rhyne near
Burnham

The
driver of this £58,000 Porsche Cayenne vehicle managed to
scramble free without injuries after dramatically careering off
the road into a rhyne near Burnham-On-Sea early on Monday morning
(September 15th).
The
luxury 4x4 vehicle, which is only two years old, ended up partially
submerged in the water besides Yarrow Road in Mark following the
accident at midnight.
Nearby
residents told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the driver - a local man
- received a few stern words from his wife, who is the owner of
the vehicle.
"He
swerved off the road while trying to avoid a deer," added
one resident, who asked not to be named. "He definitely had
a lot of explaining to do when he got home!"
A
police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com that no-one had been
injured in the incident.
Ditches
and rhynes
along narrow roads in the area have claimed many vehicles during
recent years, but none quite as expensive as this high-end car.
Last October, two
vehicles plunged into ditches along Harp Road during slippery
road conditions.
