Seafront
pottery shop opens in Burnham-On-Sea
A
new shop that invites artistic children and adults to paint their
own pottery has opened on Burnham's seafront this week.
Purrr-fect
Pottery, which is sited next to Sunspot Amusements, is the idea
of Highbridge crafts enthusiast Anya Burridge.
She
had the idea of letting people choose a piece of pottery, paint
it and then allow it to be sent away for glazing and firing in
an industrial kiln before collecting it.
Pottery
prices range from £5-£20 and include plates, mugs
and money boxes, as well as children's items such as penguins
and teddies in a variety of colours.
Anya
said: "It's a fun shop for children and adults to create
colourful pottery."
"It's
something very different that is proving popular with tourists
and local residents alike. They can let their imaginations run
wild."
Our
photos show some of the customers who have visited the shop this
week, including 19 month old Honey (top) with mum Chloe and Anya;
and (right) Bethanie, 6, and Ethan, 4.
The
new shop is open from 10am until late throughout the summer months
and can be contacted on 07739 740816.
