Power cut leaves homes in East Huntspill in the dark

Several homes in East Huntspill, near Burnham-On-Sea, were still without electricity on Thursday morning (June 5th) after a series of power cuts.

Western Power Distribution confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com that a fault had occurred at 10.21pm, affecting 23 homes in the village.

"We were called to a sub-station fault in Church Road which left 23 homes without power," said Tacy Carr, spokesman for the power company. "They were re-connected at 12.09am."

"Unfortunately, the fault with a fuse blowing in a sub-station re-ocurred at 5.16am this morning (Thursday) and 15 homes were without power. Ten of these have been switched onto an alternative supply and the five remaining ones will be re-connected by the end of today."

The company apologised for the inconvenience caused.
