Dozens of Burnham-On-Sea homes left in the dark by power cut

Over thirty properties in Burnham-On-Sea were plunged into the dark by an electricity cut on Sunday (September 7th).

Western Power Distribution confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com that a cable fault affecting Cunningham Road and Dewar Close had knocked out power to 35 homes.

"We were initially called to a low voltage fault at 12.43pm which left eight homes without supplies," said Andrew Causley, spokesman for the power company.

"However, to resolve the fault, a further 27 homes had to be disconnected at 8pm and the reconnection work was not completed until 12.45am this morning, Monday (September 8th)."

The company has apologised to residents for the inconvenience caused.
