Railway enthusiast turned
author to visit Burnham-On-Sea
A
railway enthusiast turned author will be visiting Burnham-On-Sea
next month to sign copies of his new book.
Alan
Hammond will be signing copies of 'Heyday of the Somerset &
Dorset Railway' at the Tourist Information Centre on Burnham's
Esplanade on Saturday May 3rd from 9.30am to 1pm.
This
is the sixth book in the Alan Hammond series on the West Country's
much-loved branch line, which originally came into Burnham and
Highbridge.
Annette
Haggett, Burnham's Tourist Information Manager, said: "We
are delighted to be welcoming Alan Hammond back to the Tourist
Information Centre. His books are popular with both local residents
and visitors alike."
Prince
Michael of Kent, a keen engine driver himself, has written the
foreword and there are contributions from singer Tony Christie
and Michael Eavis, organiser of the Glastonbury Festival. More
details about the book are available
here.
