One person injured after car careers into ditch in Rooksbridge

Police, ambulance and fire crews were sent to an accident at Rooksbridge, near Burnham-On-Sea, on Wednesday afternoon (May 28th) after a car left the road and careered into a ditch.

Five people were freed from the Ford Fiesta close to the business park in Mendip Road at 3pm.

"On arrival, the crews confirmed that one vehicle was in the ditch and all five persons inside had been released prior to the arrival of the fire crews," a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

One casualty was placed on a spinal board and taken to hospital for treatment and the road was re-opened at 4pm.
