Seagull attacks and injures walker on Burnham-On-Sea seafront

A woman was taken to hospital after being attacked by a seagull on Burnham seafront on Wednesday morning (July 9th).

The 36-year-old was walking along The Esplanade, near the pier, at 8.45am when a gull swooped on her head from behind.

The lady was taken to Weston General Hospital where she received treatment for three puncture wounds.

Seagull attacks are not uncommon at this time of year when adult birds are protective of their young, but few people receive injuries.
