Third
seal being cared for by wildlife carers near Burnham-On-Sea

Wildlife
carers at animal charity Secret World, near Burnham-On-Sea, are
caring for a third seal that has been washed up on a Bristol Channel
beach.
The
charity was called to Weston earlier this week after a young grey
seal, which is thought to be just one month old, was washed up
on the beach.
"He's
only 15 kilos and is very underweight," explained Secret
World's spokesman Jamie Baker. "We will be looking after
him for several days before taking him down to Cornwall for specialist
treatment at a seal sanctuary."
He
added that the seal, pictured above, is now recovering well and
is living off a rich diet of fish.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
reported last month how a common
seal had been washed up on the beach at Brean.
A
second animal was found a few
days later. A porpoise
was washed up on Burnham beach in July last year and a young
seal pup was found alive on Berrow beach in November 2005.
Meanwhile,
Secret World is set to hold its annual fundraising ball later
this month - more details here.
