Burnham-On-Sea shop window
competition winners announced

The
winners of Burnham-On-Sea's annual competition to find unusual
items hidden in town centre shop windows were handed their prizes
on Tuesday evening (April 22nd).
Over
30 town centre businesses took part in Burnham-On-Sea Chamber
Of Trade & Commerce's 'Spot the odd item' competition earlier
this month - and almost 150 people entered.
First
place of £100 cash went to Gemma Carpenter who found all
the items correctly and entered the catchphrase: "I like
shopping in Burnham-On-Sea because whether it's florists or cafés,
shops for sweets or shoes, for variety and quality it's Burnham
I choose."
Second
place of £50 cash, donated by GH Tyres, went to Sarah Sparkes
with her catchphrase: "I like shopping in Burnham-On-Sea
because of the fine range of independent shops and friendly local
characters. It's unique!"
Third
place of a £25 Sea Breeze voucher went to Christopher Mallinson;
fourth place of a £25 Material Needs voucher was won by
Elizabeth & Catherine Tolley; and fifth place of a fish and
chip meal for four donated by the Pier Pavilion went to Andrew
Duncan.
Chamber
of Trade Chairman Alex Turco congratulated those who won, saying:
"Well done to the winners and to the other 28 entrants who
named all the odd items correctly. Thank you to all 148 entrants
for taking part. The Chamber's thanks also go to all the businesses
who displayed an odd item."
The
winner of the best odd item was Salisbury's Florists which had
a CD on display in its window, hidden as a flower stem holder
in a vase! A full list of all the items hidden in the shop windows
is available via the link below.
