Burnham
fundraisers stride out for charity during town's Smile Walk
Dozens
of brightly coloured costumes will be on show at Burnham-On-Sea
annual's Smile Walk this Sunday (June 22nd).
The
popular fancy dress walk will start at 2pm next to the town's
jetty and is open to all.
The walkers will then wander along the Esplanade to the Sailing
Club and back, all in aid of a good cause.
This year's event will also include live jazz music and there
will be balloons and sweets for young participants, plus refreshments
for all walkers.
C&H
Costumes are hiring costumes to all Smile Walkers at a discounted
rate on production of a Smile Walk sponsor form, while Jester
Prints are providing yellow 'happy face' T-shirts for walkers
who don't want to dress up.
Proceeds will be going to the Peter Gilliard Memorial School in
India, organiser Becky Saunders told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The
school has grown from 30 students to over 260 in the space of
five years and now we need to raise even more money as not all
the children are covered by individual sponsorship. Please help
us raise some more smiles and money for some of the world's poorest
children." Further information is available from Becky on
