Burnham-On-Sea received an unseasonal dusting of snow in the early hours of Sunday (April 6th).

Early risers woke up to these scenes in the Burnham area, with wintry scenes on Brent Knoll (above) and other parts of the town, including Apex Park (right), Marine Drive and Cross Street (below).

Forecasters said temperatures in the town had plunged below freezing overnight as the Arctic weather arrived, giving Burnham its first covering of snow since March 2006. Further light flurries were seen later on Sunday morning and afternoon – although no further snow settled.
