West Huntspill man 'recovering well' after motorbike accident
A
man from West Huntspill, near Burnham, was rushed to hospital
in an air ambulance after breaking six ribs and puncturing a lung
in a motorbike accident in Wales.
Steve
Evans, 54, was riding a three wheeled motorbike at Cwmavon, near
Port Talbot, when he lost control of the machine. It careered
off the road and ploughed into a wall.
Steve,
pictured below before the accident, was rushed to Swansea Hospital
by helicopter and is now making good progress.
Steve,
a well-known local face, is a musician in local country and western
group Movin' On and his music partner Vic Spark told Burnham-On-Sea.com
on Tuesday (August 12th) he is relieved that Steve is recovering
well.
"Steve
has been in intensive care for four days and is recovering well
after what was a terrifying accident," said Vic.
"He'd
been road testing a three wheel motorbike when the accident happened.
The road surface was very poor and Steve hit a bump, went into
the kerb, and the bike shot into a wall with him still onboard."
"He
broke six ribs, punctured a lung and was left very bruised. Without
the quick work of the air ambulance, he could well have died."
"He's
just returned back home to West Huntspill where he's getting plenty
of rest."
Vic
added that once Steve has recovered, he hopes the duo will hold
several music concerts in aid of air ambulance services. "They
do such an incredible job and deserve all the help they can get,"
said Vic. "We can't praise them enough."
