New £160,000 beach cafe set to be officially opened in Brean

A new £160,000 cafe is set to be officially opened in Brean, near Burnham-On-Sea, later this month.

The Sundowner Cafe, located besides the sliproad onto Brean beach, is run by Beachside Holiday Park and will be formally opened by a line-up of local dignitaries on June 26th.

Co-owners Clive James and Paul Fudgell (pictured) say the business is meeting a long-overdue need for a cafe besides the popular beach parking area.

"It took seven months to build at a cost of £160,000 and we're delighted with the end result," Clive told Burnham-On-Sea.com. "The cafe, public toilets and showers provide residents and visitors with a range of quality facilities."

The cafe is open from 9.30am until 8pm throughout the summer and will have shorter opening hours during the winter.
