Colourful displays of roses and sweet peas will be on display when Burnham-On-Sea Horticultural Society holds its annual show this weekend (June 14th and 15th).

Sanders Garden World at Brent Knoll has been chosen for the fourth year running as the venue for the Rose & Sweet Pea Show, which is this year being jointly run by the members of Burnham and Nailsea Horticultural Societies.

The event is open to the public on Saturday (June 14th) from 11.30am until 6pm and on Sunday (June 15th) from 10am until 4.30pm.

Judging takes place on Saturday morning before the show opens to the public and the prize-giving will be held at 12 noon on the same day.

Martyn Davis, from Nailsea Horticultural Society, said: “We’ve been very pleased with the number and quality of entries we have had in the past. This year, for the first time, we have included in the schedule some kitchen garden classes, which will give gardeners the chance to show their summer fruits and vegetables. There will be something of interest to everyone.”

Classes include large flowered roses, climbing/rambling roses, miniature roses, vases and bowls of sweet peas and fuchsias, begonias and pelargonium pot plants.
