Burnham-On-Sea
Swim and Sports Academy unveils 'phase two' plans

Plans
to transform the outside of Burnham-On-Sea's former swimming pool
with extra high-tech sporting facilities are set to be submitted
to Sedgemoor District Council.
The
bosses of the Burnham Swim & Sports Academy, Mark Conklin
and Sara Cox-Conklin (pictured), this week told Burnham-On-Sea.com
about their 'phase two' plans, which include major work to replace
the terraced outdoor area at the front of the property in Berrow
Road.
"We
have started discussions with the architects for a 'phase two'
development, which includes some very exciting plans," revealed
Mark.
"We
hope to introduce a new 10m x 4m therapy pool, a multi-purpose
room for exercise classes, several physio rooms, additional office
space and a large water fountain to act as a centrepiece,"
he added.
"They
are exciting plans, but it should be noted that everything is
subject to council planning approval."
Sara
and Mark modernised the inside of the swimming pool earlier this
year after taking over the property's lease from Sedgemoor District
Council in May following months of uncertainty about its future.
The
academy opened its doors in July
and has since then attracted thousands of visitors after a very
busy first month of operation, much to the delight of its new
owners.
