Egg-cellent visit enjoyed
by local pre-school children!
Fun-loving
children from Brent Knoll Tadpoles Pre-School were treated to
an 'egg-stra' special Easter visit this week.
Staff
at the school arranged a trip to a local egg farm which provides
the school with its eggs.
The
eight children - all aged between 2 and 4 - had the chance to
collect free range eggs and also see chickens and other animals
up close.
"All
the children had a wonderful time. This was a wonderful hands-on
learning experience for the children," Cathy Hurley, owner
of the pre-school, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
She
added that after all the hard work of collecting the eggs, the
children then got an opportunity to hunt for chocolate Easter
eggs around the farm!
"After
a wonderful morning the children sang an Easter song to Rhona,
the farm owner, to say 'thank you' for allowing them to visit."
"Visits
like this are something that we try to do as often as possible.
As well as trips to farms we also take the children on regular
walks through the countryside every week to give them a real understanding
of nature and their surroundings."
