Police
probe airgun incident at Tesco store in Burnham-On-Sea
Supermarket
giant Tesco has played down an incident at its Burnham-On-Sea
store earlier this week in which an airgun pellet was shot through
one of its windows.
The
overnight incident occurred at the front of the store in Love
Lane.
A large pane of glass at the northern end of the entrance lobby
had to be boarded up and a small hole was punched in another pane
by an airgun, as pictured here.
Tesco
spokeswoman Taryna Surtees told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "There
was a very minor incident at the store. It
was reported to the police and we assisted them with their enquiries
in any way we could."
She
added that nothing had been stolen from the store and no-one had
been injured.
Police,
meanwhile, are investigating the incident and anyone with information
should call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
