Over
100 schoolchildren take part in Highbridge youth concert
More
than 100 young people from the Burnham-On-Sea area gathered in
Highbridge on Thursday evening (March 27th) to perform in a special
concert organised by the town's Rotary Club.
The
schoolchildren came together for Burnham
Rotary Club's 'Youth Makes Music' concert.
Following
the success of last year's event, St
John's Church in Highbridge once again hosted
the evening, which was not a competition but intended to
encourage schools, staff and pupils to enjoy making and performing
music.
Among
the seven schools participating were Beechfield Infants, King
Alfred, East Huntspill, Burnham Infants, St Josephs, St Andrew's
and Berrow Primary.
Over
200 people parents and family of the children crowded into the
church to watch the event, which raised hundreds of pounds for
each of the schools' music departments.
