Mild
temperatures and calm weather provided ideal conditions for the
68 runners who took part in a race on Burnham-On-Sea seafront
on Thursday night (April 2nd).
Records
tumbled during the 5km event, which was the final race of six
held on The Esplanade over the winter months.
First
home was Bristol runner Tim Wallis who completed the course in
a time of 15 minutes, 43 seconds - a new record.
And
the first lady across the finishing line, Chloe Felton from Tiverton,
also smashed the womens fastest time by setting a new record of
18 minutes and 49 seconds.
Organiser
Martin Rogers, from Burnham Swim and Sports Academy, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"We're delighted with how our winter series of runs has gone
- it's been well supported by athletes from across the region."
"We
are already looking forward to the start of the summer series
of seafront runs, which begins on 2nd June and continues on 6th
July and 4th August." Entry details are available from the
sports academy in Berrow Road.

The
runners completed three laps of a 5km course, from the Tourist
Information Centre to the Yacht Club along the seafront

Runners
of all ages and abilities have been taking part in the regular
