Fire crews free trapped woman from car after Burnham accident

-

These were the scenes on the A38 near Burnham-On-Sea on Wednesday afternoon (October 7th) after a two-vehicle accident left a woman in hospital with neck injuries.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the Bristol Road at 2.40pm after a Range Rover and a tractor collided.

Fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea, Bridgwater and Weston attended the scene to help remove the woman from her vehicle.

“The casualty in the car was not physically trapped, but had possible neck injuries and crews used hydraulic cutting gear to remove the roof and remove the casualty on a spinal board,” fire spokesman Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Police spokesman Simon Whitby added that the casualty was taken to Weston General Hospital and that the A38 was closed while the emergency services were at the scene.
