Winners
of Highbridge Apex Park logo competition are announced

The
winners of a competition to create a new promotional logo for
Highbridge's Apex Wildlife Park were named on Wednesday (July
1st).
The
competition, run by Sedgemoor District Council and the Friends
of Apex Park's Improvements Group, called on art students from
King Alfred School to design a slogan for the park.
"It
was run in response to a previous Green Flag Award judges
comments that it was difficult for visitors to know what was on
offer inside the park from the outside of the park," Claire
Faun, spokeswoman for Sedgemoor District Council, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The
winning students were Jess Simpson with her "Fish, Walk or
Play" tagline to accompany the park's swan logo and James
Clarke's entry of a bold, visual design that used the idea of
reflections in the water.
"James
idea was original and portrayed Apex Park Logo clearly. Cleo Stead,
Grace Housden, Bradley Johnson and Anna Kevan each received commendations
for their work."
Jess
won a £30 WH Smith Voucher and James a £20 WH Smith
Voucher. The winners were chosen in partnership with the Friends
of Apex Park Improvements Group and Emma Fisher, Head of Art for
King Alfred School.
