Mayor unveils new information board telling the history of Apex Park

-

A new information board displaying photographs and explaining the history behind the former brick works at Apex Park in Highbridge was unveiled by the town’s Mayor on Wednesday afternoon (July 15th).

Members of the Friends of Apex Park Group – including Fay Burston, Eileen Picton and Mary Draper – have been working on the project by gathering information from former brickyard workers for almost two years.

Mayor Derick Cooper and Mayoress Christine Cooper officially unveiled the board next to Apex’s car park, as pictured here.

Funding for the board has been split between Sedgemoor District Council, who donated £950, and Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Town Council, which gave £250.
