Motorist sentenced
after car slams into Burnham-On-Sea home

A
44-year-old motorist who crashed a BMW through the wall of a Burnham-On-Sea
home in an early morning accident has this week been given a two-year
suspended jail term.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
reported in May how
Patrick Caulton, from Bridgwater, had been arrested after careering
off Marine Drive at speed, demolishing two lamp posts, slamming
through a brick wall and ending up in a front garden, as pictured
here.
He
appeared before Sedgemoor Magistrates Court this week where the
judge gave him a two year suspended sentence for aggravated vehicle
taking and driving without insurance.
He
was also asked to pay £300 compensation towards the repair
costs, and has been disqualified from driving for 12 months.
Residents
were shocked to be woken by the sound of a loud bang at 4.15am
on May 10th when the accident occurred on the corner of Marine
Drive and Highburn Close, close to the entrance to Apex Wildlife
Park.
One
resident said it was a "miracle" no-one had been seriously
injured in the accident, which left debris strewn across the garden
of the property, as shown here.
