Brush
up your drawing and painting skills at new Burnham art classes
Somerset
County Council's Skills and Learning Centre in Burnham-On-Sea
will be starting two new art courses later this month.
Both
courses will be taught by local artist Ade Bowen and will take
place at the Skills and Learning Centre in Princess Street.
The
first course, Art School Drawing Skills, is a five week programme
which teaches the basics of drawing. The course runs on Tuesdays
between 7pm and 9pm starting on Tuesday 21st April and finishing
on Tuesday 19th May.
"The
fun course will give learners the skills to draw shape, tone and
texture enabling them to create a well composed picture,"
said a spokesperson for the centre.
The
second course, Abstract Art, runs over four weeks and will introduce
a different style of abstract art such as Cubism, Abstract Expressionism
and Surrealism. The course is on Thursdays between 9.30am and
12 noon starting on Thursday 23rd April and finishing on Thursday
14th May.
"Learners
will explore the ideas and reasons behind each art movement and
have a go at creating their own painting in each style,"
added the spokeswoman.
Courses
may be booked by calling 01278 783057 or booking online here.
