Burnham charity's stolen banner is
replaced by garden centre
Staff
at a local garden centre have given a charity a new advertising
banner to replace one that was stolen from Burnham-On-Sea in March.
When
employees at Sanders Garden World heard that Freewheelers Emergency
Voluntary Service had a banner promoting their fundraising car
boot sales stolen, they pledged to replace it.
Peter
Burks, General Manager at Sanders Garden World, said: "We
found out that Freewheelers had had their banner stolen so wanted
to help them get a new one, especially as they are one of our
charities of the year."
"The
charity transports items on specially adapted motorcycles from
hospital to hospital in Somerset and beyond and is funded entirely
by public donations and sponsorship, so we thought rather than
them use much needed money for the service they provide to buy
a new banner, we'd buy one for them."
Freewheelers
was founded in 1991 and provides a free out of hours back up service
for the NHS. Allan Roberts, one of the charitys volunteers,
added: "We were really upset when we realised our banner
for the car boot sales at Sanders Garden World had been stolen.
We are delighted they have given us a new one."
The
car boot sales take place at Sanders GardenWorld in Brent Knoll
every Friday from 10am until 2pm.
