South
Wales lifeboat makes a surprise visit to Burnham-On-Sea

A
lifeboat crew from South Wales made a surprise visit to Burnham-On-Sea
this week during a training exercise.
The
RNLI Offshore lifeboat from Barry moored at Burnham-On-Sea Sailing
Club's pontoons and met members of Burnham's RNLI, BARB and Coastguard
crews.
The
huge lifeboat, called Forward Birmingham, is a Trent class boat
and was on a navigation exercise which required them to make a
brief, unannounced visit to the town.
Members
of Burnham's marine rescue services took the opportunity to look
over the high-tech craft during its 30-minute visit.
The
Barry crew were welcomed by Sailing club President Tony Winterburn,
Burnham RNLI Chairman Graham Wills, and are pictured (right) talking
with Barry crewmembers Lars Vlaskamp and Gareth Williams.
Members
of the Burnham inshore lifeboat crew also got a chance to discuss
the boat with the Barry crew, as pictured at the top of this page.
