Spring
clean for Burnham-On-Sea
and Berrow beaches

A
team of nine council staff has this week completed a three-day
clean-up operation on Burnham-On-Sea's beach.
Five
truckfuls of rubbish and over 150 sacks have been taken away in
readiness for the busy Easter holiday season.
Chris
Bees, Sedgemoor's Clean Surroundings Supervisor for the Burnham
area, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The beach should definitely
be a lot cleaner. We've removed large quantities of man-made rubbish
all along the coast, from Berrow up to Burnham Yacht Club."
"Several
truck loads of material has been taken away, plus 150 bags of
small items including bottles, sanitary items and plastic rubbish.
We haven't picked up natural items, such as seaweed or driftwood."
