Celebrating
Berrow footballers given tour of Burnham!

A
team of celebrating young footballers enjoyed an open-air tour
of Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday evening (May 16th) when they travelled
to their annual presentation night.
Berrow
Boys Under 10s won the North Somerset Mini League County Cup and
were delighted to show off their trophy, which they clinched after
a hard-fought 2-1 win over Nailsea.
The
youngsters were towed in a specially-adapted trailer along Burnham
seafront, then through Berrow and Brean, on Saturday evening.
Andrew
Goodall, the team's Assistant Manager, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"The boys deserved this recognition - their win was remarkable
given that they'd really struggled in the League this year. They
did so well to win the County Cup."
And
Matthew Ellis, the team's proud Manager, added: "It was strong
teamwork that won us the Cup. The opposing team, Nailsea, were
1-0 up at half time, but the boys showed lots of spirit to battle
back and win 2-1 at the final whistle."
The
boys were dropped off at the Farmers Tavern in Brean Leisure Park
where Berrow Football Club's annual presentation night was held.
