Body
of man found in Burnham river estuary 'is from Gloucestershire'
The
body of a middle-aged man found washed up in a river estuary near
Burnham-On-Sea earlier this week came from Gloucestershire, it
has been announced.
West
Somerset Coroner Michael Rose told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Thursday
(May 28th): "We are certain the body is not a local person,
but that of a Gloucestershire man."
He
named the man as 52 year-old David John Lowe of Tetbury, and added:
"The cause of death is still unascertained."
The
man was last seen four weeks ago when Gloucestershire Police issued
three appeals to try and trace his whereabouts. His vehicle was
later found abandoned at a service station near the Severn Bridge
on April 29th.
Police
sealed off an area around Burnham Sailing Club, as pictured above,
on Monday evening (May 25th)
after the body was found in the nearby river estuary at the mouth
of the River Brue and Parrett.
Police
have said they are not treating the discovery as suspicious.
