More than 1,500 spectators enjoyed a sparkling fireworks display in Brean at the weekend when the village’s Leisure Park held the first of four free events.

“The first display of the year was a huge success with over 1,500 spectators seeing a display that illuminated the skies above Brean,” said spokeswoman Helen Quartley.

The event was expected to have raised hundreds of pounds for local charities, including Burnham-On-Sea Sea Cadets.

“Donations made on the evenings are contributed to local charities as part of Brean Leisure Park’s ongoing commitment to give something back to the local community,” she added.

The next display will be held on Saturday May 30th with further displays on September 5th and 31st October. Half-price ride wristbands are available on the night, giving unlimited ride access to over 30 family rides.
