Police issue warning after three overnight burglaries in Highbridge

Residents in Burnham and Highbridge have this week been urged to pay attention to household security following three burglaries on Tuesday night (June 16th).

The spate of thefts happened across Highbridge and police say it appears that the thieves are targeting homes with unlocked doors and open windows.

Burnham-On-Sea Police's Sergeant Ian Kennett has asked householders in the Burnham and Highbridge area to take care.

Sgt Kennett said: "Although Burnham and Highbridge are low crime areas there is no room for complacency. We need the eyes and ears of our communities to help us reduce crime and I would particularly like anyone seeing or hearing anything suspicious in the early hours of the morning to report it immediately."

Members of the public are also being asked to look out for a silver Toyota Avensis registration number WP03UJD that was stolen from one of the burglaries and has not yet been recovered.
